A RESOLUTION IN MEMORIAM OF EDWARD BENNETT
WHEREAS, with the passing of Edward Bennett on May 9 ,
1971 , this community lost one of its most conscientiously
dedicated and devoted citizens in many endeavors of public
service ; and
WHEREAS , from August 26 , 1957 to the time of his passing,
Edward Bennett served officially the City of Little Rock in
the capacity of Commissioner on the Little Rock Robinson
Auditorium Commission where he continuously strived to cause
the auditorium facility to be useful to all inhabitants; and
WHEREAS , he worked to bring about improvements to the
auditorium facility which now, with the planning for a
Convention Center Complex to include the auditorium will
become a reality hopefully in a matter of a very few months.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. We are saddened with the passing of Edward
Bennett and by this Resolution would commemorate for posterity,
his life of dedicated service to his fellowman and community.
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption. A copy of said Resolution
shall be forwarded to the surviving members of his family.
