A RESOLUTION NAMING THE PARK LOCATED AT
21ST AND COMMERCE STREETS IN THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK PETTAWAY PARK IN HONOR
OF THE LATE DR. C. D. PETTAWAY; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, the late Dr. C. D. Pettaway contributed much to
the betterment of the City of Little Rock by his efforts and accomp-
lishments, among which were the pastoring of Shiloh Baptist Church
for 41 years, the founding of United Friends of America Hospital,
and the serving as President of the National Baptist Convention of
America from 1957 to 1967 ; and
WHEREAS, the park located at 21st and Commerce Streets in
the City of Little Rock is presently unnamed; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
wish to honor the late Dr. C. D. Pettaway for his achievements and
contributions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS ,
SECTION 1. The park located at 21st and Commerce Streets
in the City of Little Rock is hereby named PETTAWAY PARK in honor
of the late Dr . C. D. Pettaway.
SECTION 2 . This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
