RESOLUTION NO. 4,559
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLACING OF STRENGTH
SUPPORTING IMPROVEMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION WITHIN
THE AIR RIGHTS OVER GARLAND STREET TO BE PLACED
WITHIN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY OF GARLAND STREET AS
PLANNED BY THE BAR AND CAMELOT; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock has heretofore on February 17,
1971; entered into Lease Agreements with Camelot Inn - Little Rock,
Inc. , an Arkansas corporation, and with the Arkansas Bar Foundation,
a nonprofit Arkansas corporation, authorizing the Lessees to make
improvements in certain space above elevation 285 over the right-of-
way platted as Garland Street, which plat is filed of record in
Pulaski County record book "L", at pages 330 and 331; and
WHEREAS , necessarily the improvements to be constructed by both
Camelot and the Arkansas Bar Foundation must have columns, footings,
utilities and other structural and mechanical appurtenances and
Camelot Inn - Little Rock, Inc. requires an access ramp situated
within the said Garland Street Right-of-way for the planned air
rights improvements; and
WHEREAS, such improvements as must be placed within the right-of-
way of Garland Street will not close Garland Street to vehicular
traffic and are in the public interest; and
WHEREAS , under authority and power given to the City, more parti-
cularly under Section 19-2403, Arkansas Statutes, 1947 ann. , it is
found and determined that the right-of-way areas to be utilized in
providing these supporting and appurtenant improvements to be made by
both Camelot and the Arkansas Bar are not needed for and do not
adversely affect the free and safe movement of traffic on the said
Garland Street.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .

SECTION 1. The supporting footings, foundations, columns,
utility lines, vehicular access ramps and such other structural
and mechanical appurtenances as planned and provided for in the
Leases and the Exhibits to each of said Leases between the City
of Little Rock, Camelot Inn - Little Rock, Inc, and the Arkansas
Bar Foundation as executed by the Board of Directors on February
17, 1971 and on file in the office of the City Clerk, and as the
Exhibits may from time to time be amended with the approval of
Camelot and the Arkansas Bar and the Board of Directors of the
City of Little Rock, are hereby approved for the purpose of
placing same within the right-of-way of Garland Street.
SECTION 20 This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
