A RESOLUTION DENYING A BU:.::1DING PERMIT FOR
IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE ON LAND SITUATED AT
THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF
RODNEY PARHAM ROAD AND MISSISSIPPI STREET;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , The State Highway Department in planning con-
struction of the Wilbur Mills Expressway will utilize certain
lands as right-of-way for the project situated generally at
the northwest corner of the intersection of Rodney Parham Road
and Mississippi Street in the City of Little Rock, which plans
will be more clearly and expressly laid out and defined within
the matter of six months; and
WHEREAS , the City is requested by the State of Arkansas to
deny any building permit for said lands in keeping with the
provisions of State law, with the proviso and understanding
that the State of Arkansas will purchase and pay for said real
property utilized in the planned right-of-way for said express-
way within twelve months;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The building permit requested by United States
Construction Company to construct ='.: ,prove,Tei-rts on property
situated generally at the intersection of Rodney Parham Road
and Mississippi Street is hereby denied to the extent that such
permit would involve property now known to be necessary for
right-of-way purposes in planned construction by the State of
Arkansas of the Wilbur Mills Expressway.
SECTION 2. The State of Arkansas is hereby requested to
take notice of the law pertaining to the subject matter and
proceed with detailed planning fixing the limits and extent of
the right-of-way requirements involved and prepare and plan for
payment to the registered owners of such lands as taken, the
full value thereof within 12 months from the effective date of
this Resolution.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
