A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXCHANGE OF
CERTAIN FIRE APPARATUS WITH THE CITY OF
MITCHELLVILLE, ARKANSAS ; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , The City of Mitchellville, Arkansas, acting by
and through its Mayor and City Council has by letter dated
JULY 4, 1970, addressed to the Mayor and Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock proposed an exchange between the
two cities of a 1953 Mack Fire Truck owned by Mitchellville
and a 1951 Ford Fire Truck owned by the City of Little Rock;
and
WHEREAS , the proposed exchange has been recommended by
the Fire Chief of the City of Little Rock and the City Manager
as being advantageous to both the City of Little Rock and to
Mitchellville, each of said cities receiving equal value in the
exchange and providing Mitchellville with fire equipment usable
in that City and the City of Little Rock uniquely usable equip-
ment for the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS , it is determined by the Board of Directors that
competitive bidding in this exceptional situation would serve
no useful purpose and therefore such bidding should be waived
in this particular situation.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to exchange the 1951 Ford Fire Truck of the City
of Little Rock for a 1953 Mack. Fire Truck owned by the City
of Mitchellville and to receive and issue receipts for such
equipment which receipts will reflect the necessary descriptive
information identifying the two units of equipment so that title
thereto can legally be processed in the manner and to the extent
that the laws of the State of Arkansas require.

SECTION 2. Competitive bidding is hereby waived in
connection with the exchange of equipment authorized in
section 1 hereof.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption.
