` ' RESOLUTION NO . 4,462
A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE UNITED STATES
ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS FOURCHE BAYOU
NAVIGATION AND WATER RESOURCE IMPROVE-
MENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES ,
WHEREAS , the United States Army Crops of Engineers is
presently considering the Fourche Bayou Navigation and Water Re-
source Improvement Program; and
WHEREAS , a comprehensive water resource development
program for Fourche Bayou is consistent and in keeping with the
adopted water drainage program for the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS , the Fourche Bayou Navigation and Water Re-
source Improvement Program would be conducive to the industrial
development of the Greater Little Rock area; and
WHEREAS , a program of flood improvement would greatly
benefit the City of Little Rock, generally, and provide a val-
uable public recreation resource with unlimited potential as to
benefits which could be made available to the citizens of the
City of Little Rock.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1 . The United States Corps of Engineers is
hereby commended for taking the initiative in the development of
the Fourche Bayou Navigation and Water Resource Improvement Pro-
gram in Pulaski County, which vitally affects the public peace,
health , welfare, and safety of the citizens of the City of Little
Rock. The Board of Directors fully endorses the concept and
pledges to the United States Corps of Engineers full support and
cooperation to the end that such program becomes a reality and
is implemented, All agencies of the City Government will devote
such time, energy and talents as may be needed and requested in
this most worthwhile undertaking.

SECTION 2 , This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption,
