4371 RESOLUTION NO. 4'371
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
ARKANSAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT AND THE
BUREAU OF PUBLIC ROADS PERTAINING TO THE
INITIATION OF A FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION
PROGRAM ENTITLED "TRAFFIC OPERATIONS
PROGRAM TO INCREASE CAPACITY AND SAFETY" ;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock has participated in the
development of the Pulaski Area Transportation Study , now completed;
and
WHEREAS , the Study included the development of a long-range
improvement program and a traffic operations study; and
WHEREAS , the Study provides data which will qualify as support
information in the development of a 'Traffic Operations Program to
Increase Capacity and Safety" for the Little Rock major street system;
and
WHEREAS , a TOPICS study will expedite the accomplishment of a
short-range program to increase traffic flow and safety.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. That the City of Little Rock , through its Board of
Directors , hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into an Agreement
with the Arkansas Highway Department pertaining to the conduct of a
TOPICS study' for Little Rock.
SECTION 2 . That the City of Little Rock pledges its full
support and cooperation to the Arkansas Highway Department and the
Bureau of Public Roads and to all other agencies involved in the project.
SECTION 3 . That the City of Little Rock will participate in
accordance with its designated responsibility in the implementation of
the recommendations provided in the approved report.
SECTION 4 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
