A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO MAKE AND FILE APPLICATION WITH THE
BUREAU OF OUTDOOR RECREATION OF THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR FOR A GRANT
OF FUNDS TO BE USED FOR THE ACQUISITION
AND DEVELOPMENT OF RIVER MOUNTAIN PARK;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the United States of America is making available to
municipalities certain matching funds for the acquisition and develop-
ment of park lands under Section 5 of the Land and Water Conservation
Fund Act of 1965 which grants are administered through the Department
of Interior, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation; and
WHEREAS , it is the desire of the City of Little Rock to
participate in the program and receive the benefits thereof in the
form of grants in aid for acquisition and development of parks and park
lands .
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to make application to the Department of Interior, Bureau of Outdoor
Recreation, for grants in aid to the extent that the City of Little Rock
may be eligible therefor under Section 5 of the Land and Water Conserva-
tion Fund:.Act-.of 1965 for the purpose of the acquisition of lands and
the development of a park to be known as River Mountain Park.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to execute for and in behalf of the City of Little Rock any and all
instruments pertaining to the said application which shall be necessary
for the purposes described in this Resolution.
SECTION 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
