A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
WITHDRAW IN PART THE APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR A GRANT TO ACQUIRE OPEN-
SPACE LAND; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, did, by Resolution
No. 3 ,979 adopted May 6 , 1968, authorize application with the Department
of Housing and Urban Development for a grant to acquire and develop open-
space land, and
WHEREAS, that resolution and ensuing application set forth the
city' s desire to acquire fee simple title to certain land known as Park
Site F, containing 8 acres and located at 36th and High Streets, and
WHEREAS, it has become apparent that the cost of acquiring said
property is exorbitant and the location is not conducive to the develop-
ment of a well planned and coordinated open-space project, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Board to withdraw that portion
of the application dealing with Park Site F.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to withdraw from the application of the City of Little Rock
with the Department of Housing and Urban Development for a grant to
acquire and develop open-space land, that portion of said application con-
cerning itself with Park Site F.
SECTION 2 . That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute and file all documents necessary to facilitate the
effective withdrawal of the city ' s application dealing with Park Site F.
SECTION 3 . This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
