4300 RESOLUTION NO. 4,300
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR AN ADVISORY
COMMITTEE TO BE CONCERNED WITH EFFECTIVE
UTILIZATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF ACT 185 ,
ACTS OF ARKANSAS , 1965 , AS AMENDED; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. There is hereby created an Advisory Committee
to the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock to be composed of
seven members, qualified as provided for by Act 185 , Acts of Arkansas,
1965, as amended. Appointments of membership to the Committee will be
made by the Board of Directors subsequent to the adoption of this
Resolution.
SECTION 2. The Advisory Committee provided for in
Section 1 hereof is charged with the responsibility of providing a
detailed feasibility study involving effective utilization of the pro-
visions of said State legislation as it relates to a city advertising
and promotion commission, with authority to levy a one percent gross
receipts tax and use the proceeds therefrom for any one or more of
several public purposes defined by said legislation. In particular
the said study should encompass and make a determination that such tax
levy is or is not appropriate for the City of Little Rock for the
purpose of providing convention facilities and/or related activities.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
