A RESOLUTION EKPRESSING THE INTENT OF
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS REGARDING THE
FUTURE STATUS OF INCREASES IN PRIVILEGE
TAXES RECENTLY LEVIED AGAINST PUBLIC
UTILITIES ; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , the City of Little Rock recently assessed
increased privilege or franchise taxes against public
utilities serving the citizens of this city; and
WHEREAS , the said utilities desire an expression
of the Board of Directors regarding the possibility
of such increases being reduced or withdrawn in the
future.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors hereby express
intent to reexamine the recent increase in franchise
taxes levied against public utilities serving this
city and its inhabitants at such time in the future
when additional unrestricted revenues from new tax
sources are made available to the city from either
the State Government or through enabling legislation,
with the view in mind of reducing the amount of the
increase levy to the extent that such is feasible.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage.
