4254 RESOLUTION NO . 4,254 A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION TO R. E. BRIANS ; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES . WHEREAS, R. E. Brians, effective September 1, 1969, resigned his position as Chief of Police of the City of Little Rock, after 27 years, 7 months, and 15 days service in the Police Department of the City of Little Rock; and WHEREAS, in these years the said R. E. Brians has given un- selfishly of his energies and talents in his chosen profession and the citizenry of this community are the beneficiaries of a vastly improved Police Department for which the Board of Directors would express its gratitude to such a well deserving person. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK. SECTION 1. R. E. Brians, former member of the Little Rock Police Department having served that Department from January 16, 1942 until September 1, 1969, the latter six years of which were served in the capacity of Chief, is hereby commended for his con- tribution to this City and her people. SECTION 2. This Board of Directors, individually and for and on behalf of the citizenry, would express a humble thanks to Chief Brians and wish for him and his family in his retirement, every success, health and happiness.
