4206 4,206 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TO RETAIN THE TAX EXEMPTION STATUS OF MUNICIPAL BONDS . AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES . WHEREAS, strong Congressional attacks are being made on municipal bonds tax exemption at this time and WHEREAS, the House Ways and Means Committee of Congress has completed a series of hearings on tax reform and at present is involved in the drafting of legislation to effectuate the national administrationts taxation program, which bills will doubt- less deal with municipal bond tax exemption. and WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock desires to retain tax exemption for municipal bonds , NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, by this Resolution, would encourage the Congress of the United States to retain tax exemption for municipal bonds , SECTION 2 , The City Manager is requested to forward a copy of this Resolution, duly certified, to the Honorable Wilbur Mills, Congressman from this District and Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee so that he may be advised of the position of the City of Little Rock SECTION 3 This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption, ADOPTED: May 19, 1969 / �:%, /�> ATTEST: ` � APPROVED: V Actin City Clerk _yor
