A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING JOHN MERIWETHER, CITY
MANAGER OF CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, TO MAKE
APPLICATION AND SIGN NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK FOR FEDERAL GRANT
UNDER PUBLIC LAW 660 , AS AMENDED; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS .
SECTION 1 . It is contemplated that the City of Little
Rock will construct certain sewage transmission and treatment
facilities with an estimated total cost of SIX HUNDRED FORTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($640,000 ,00) and it is found that the City of
Little Rock is unable to provide the total cost of such improve-
ments and it is deemed necessary and proper to apply for federal
grant under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, Public
Law 660 , as amended, in order to have sufficient funds to complete
these much needed improvements .
SECTION 2. In order that this application be made and
perfected, John Meriwether, City Manager of the City of Little
Rock, is hereby authorized and directed to make the application
and sign the necessary documents required to complete the project
on behalf of the City of Little Rock for a federal grant under
Public Law 660, as amended; to be applied to the cost of the
construction of said sewage facilities . The City of Little Rock
hereby agrees that if a federal grant for the project is made
pursuant to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, the City
will pay the remaining costs of the approved project.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
