A RESOLUTION FIXING THE DATE AND PROVIDING FOR
NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING ON A PETITION TO
VACATE AND ABANDON THAT PORTION OF APPIANWAY
STREET BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE EAST-WEST
EXPRESSWAY AND ON THE SOUTH BY THE EXTENDED
EAST-WEST ALLEYS OF BLOCKS 5 AND 6 ROOTS AND
COYS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS .
WHEREAS, the Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department
has duly filed a petition with the Board of Directors of the
City of Little Rock on the day of , 1969,
asking that the Board of Directors , close, vacate and abandon
that part of Appianway Street bounded on the North by the
East-West Expressway and on the south by the extended east-
west alleys of Blocks 5 and 6 Root' s and Coys Addition to
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, the petitioners have properly designated that
portion of the street and filed a photostat of the plat showing
said portion together with the abutting block and lot numbers ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS , in regular meeting
assembled this 17th day of February, 1969, that the day for
the hearing on this petition shall be March 17, 1969 at
7 :30 p.m.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is directed
to give notice of the hearing by publication once a week for
two consecutive weeks in a newspaper of county-wide distribu
tion, the notice to state the names of the persons signing
the petition, the name of the portion of the street, the
abutting lot and block numbers, and the day certain on which
the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock will hear
and determine whether that portion of Appianway Street lying

between the East-West Expressway and the extended east-west
alleys of Blocks 5 and 6, Root' s and Coys Addition to the
City of Little Rock, should be closed and vacated.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be in
full force and effect from and after its adoption by the
Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock and approval
by the Mayor.
