A RESOLUTION TO HONOR AND COMMEMORATE MARTIN
BORCHERT - THE MAN, THE CITIZEN, AND PUBLIC
SERVANT.
WHEREAS, Martin Borchert completed on December 31, 1968 four
years public service as a member of the Board of Directors of the
City of Little Rock, the latter two years of which he served in
the capacity of Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the imagination and leadership employed by Martin
Borchert , always motivated by the dedication to serve his fellow
man in whatever capacity possible, became an inspiration to all
with whom he came in contact , and especially his colleagues on
the Board of Directors . His energies and talents were ever
devoted to a program of progress , planned and prosecuted to serve
both the material and human needs of all people; and
WHEREAS, we would by this resolution express sincere gratitude
and appreciation for his efforts and inspiration and thus so
honor him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1 . Martin Borchert - the citizen, the man, and public
servant, for the record, is hereby honored for his inspirational
leadership in city government unselfishly given for the four year
period last past from December 31, 1968 as a member of the Board
of Directors and as Mayor of this city. de would commemorate his
contributions to the accomplishments materially beneficial to the
entire community and especially his efforts to bring all men to
the point of having true respect one for another. May he ever
take pride, as do we, in his contributions and accomplishments .
SECTION 2 . This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption .
