3 A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT KUTAK ROCK AS LEGAL COUNSEL TO
4 ASSIST WITH THE ISSUANCE OF SEVEN MILLION SEVEN HUNDRED
5 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($7,700,000) IN SHORT-TERM FINANCING
6 NOTES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS,the City has decided pursuant to Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 20,732 (June 4, 2013)
9 to issue Seven Million, Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($7,700,000) of short-term debt to finance the
10 purchase of certain items; and,
11 WHEREAS,the City requested proposals from qualified firms to handle this work; and,
12 WHEREAS, a committee has reviewed the competitive qualification proposals of six (6) law firms
13 and determined that Kutak Rock is the most qualified to assist with the issuance of this debt, and to fulfill
14 other obligations of the City;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1: The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Kutak Rock to act
18 as legal counsel for the issuance of 2013 Short-Term Financing Note pursuant to Little Rock, Ark.,
19 Ordinance No. 20,732 (June 4, 2013).
20 Section 2: Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
21 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
22 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
23 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
24 ordinance.
25 Section 3: Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, which are inconsistent
26 with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
