3907► • RESOLUTION NO. 3, 907 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE COOPERATION AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AND THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, FOR THE COLISEUM URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT, ARK R-17, AS AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTION NO. 3,179 WHEREAS, on the 7th day of July 1964, a Cooperation Agreement was entered into between representatives of the City of Little Rock and the Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock for the Coliseum Urban Re- newal Project pursuant to the provisions of Resolution No. 3 ,179 adopted July 6, 1964, which Cooperation Agreement was amended on February 23 , 1965 , to include a Civil Rights clause in a new paragraph (e) under Section 1; and, WHEREAS, subsequent to entering into the Cooperation Agreement the detailed plans and specifications, and detailed cost estimates, have been completed for street improvements, including curbs and gutters, and an underground storm drainage system in the Coliseum Project; and, WHEREAS, integral and necessary parts of the plan of improvement are on a boundary street or are outside the project boundary thus rendering these parts of the improvements ineligible for Federal expenditures; and, WHEREAS, except for certain street repairs within the Project Area in- cluding asphalt concrete overlay to be accomplished separately by the City of Little Rock, it is essential from the standpoint of economy and co- ordination of construction that the improvements to be made by the Housing Authority with Federal funds and the ineligible work be included in a single contract to be administered by the Housing Authority:, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS: The Cooperation Agreement be and is hereby amended to add subparagraph (f) under Section 1, "The City Agrees", as follows: (f) To provide its funds for (1) the construction of about z the cost of West 34th Street where it forms the boundary of the Urban Renewal Area, including the cost of curbs and gutters and storm drainage facilities on the south side of this boundary street and the storm drain pipes serving that side of the street; (2) the cost of off-site storm drainage facilities and alterations of existing improvements caused by these facilities, along High Street and to the east thereof; and (3) the cost of scarifying and disposing of street surfacing for the closed streets and the grading of these areas; all at an estimated cost of $65,000; to be performed under the same con- tract as the improvements to be accomplished by the Housing Authority with Federal funds, but the referenced ineligible items to be set forth in a separate bid and payment schedule.
