3805 4 RESOLUTION NO . 3, 805 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CON- STRUCTION OF WHARF STRUCTURES, GRADING AND DRAINAGE STRUCTURES AT THE PORT OF LITTLE ROCK; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF SAID CONTRACT PRICE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS , invitation to bid was published and bids received pursuant thereto for the construction and installation of wharf structures, grading and draining structures at the Port of Little Rock all in accordance with law; and WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bid received for said construction was that of Carter Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of Eight Hundred Eleven Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty and 56/100 Dollars ($811,960.56) ; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors based on the recommendation of the Port Authority of the City of Little Rock to accept the said bid of Carter Construction Company, Inc. and authorize a contract for the prosecution of the work provided for in accordance with plans, specifications and bid proposal. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The bid of Carter Construction Company, Inc. in the amount of Eight Hundred Eleven Thousand Nine Hundred Sixty and 56/100 Dollars ($811,960.56) for the construction and install- ation of wharf structures, grading and drainage structures at the Port of Little Rock is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Little Rock a contract with Carter Construct- ion Company, Inc. for the prosecution of the work in accordance with plans, specifications and bid proposal on file in the office of the Purchasing Agent and the Port Authority of the City of Little Rock. Statement of Work, The Contractor shall furnish all super- .:: vision, technical personnel , labor, materials , machinery, tools, equipment, incidentals , and services, including utility and transportation services, and perform and complete all work required for the Wharf Structure, Grading and Drainage Structures in Little Rock, Arkansas , in strict accordance with the PI) Contract Documents, including all Addenda thereto, numbered One dated June 23, 1967 and Two as prepared by the Engineer, a dated June 27, 1967 ', ARTICLE 2. The Contract Price. The Owner will pay the Contractor, be- cause of his performance of the Contract, for the total quantities of work per- formed at the lump sum prices and unit prices stipulated in the Proposal for `' the several respective items of work completed, subject to additions and de- . :f; ductions as provided in paragraph GC-06, 'Changes in the Work' , of GENERAL CONDITIONS. ARTICLE 3. Contract Time. The Contractor agrees to begin work within ten (10) calendar days after issuance by the Owner of a "Work Order" or "Notice to Proceed" and to complete the work within the time specified as i follows: ffr (1) From the beginning of the work near the southwest corner of Adams Field to Fourche Dam Pike, 120 calendar days, and (2) All work except as outline in subparagraph (1) above, 240 calendar j days. - al (3) All work in subparagraphs (1) and (2) above to run concurrently. ARTICLE 5. Surety. The responsible offices and persons both for the City of Little kock and the Port Authority are hereby authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrant or warrants in payment of the contract price upon completion of the work provided for in said contract all in accordance with terms, provisions and conditions therein set forth.
