A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF PATTON
WRECKING & DEMOLITION COMPANY FOR THE
DEMOLITION OF IMPROVEMENTS ON CERTAIN
PARCELS OF PROPERTY FOR THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK IN THE THIRD STREET RELOCATION
PROJECT; AWARDING OF CONTRACT; AUTHORIZING
PAYMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, invitation to bid was advertised and bids
received pursuant thereto according to law for the demolition
and removal of improvements on the hereinafter identified
parcels of real property in the Third Street Relocation
Project in the City of Little Rock; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsible and responsive bid
was submitted by Patton Wrecking & Demolition Company in the
sum of $3,400.00 ; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors
to accept the bid of Patton Wrecking & Demolition Company and
to award a contract for the performance of said work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. The bid of Patton Wrecking & Demolition
Company for the demolition of Parcel Number 20, same being
located at 2020 West Third Street and 20202 West Third Street;
Parcels 23 and 24, same being located 220 and 224 Summit Street;
Parcel 225, same being located at 212 Schiller Street and
Parcel 9, same being located at 112 Park Avenue; all within
the Third Street Relocation Right-of-Way within the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, according to the plans, specifications,
and other bidding documents, in the sum of $3,400.00, is
hereby accepted.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the
City of Little Rock a contract with Patton Wrecking &
Demolition Company for the performance of the work provided
for in Section 1 hereof, which contract shall be in form
and substance as follows :
CONTRACT FOR DEMOLITION
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS :
That the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , owner and
Patton Wrecking & Demolition Company, contractor, does hereby
contract, covenant and agree as follows :
SECTION 1 . SCOPE OF WORK. The scope of work to be
performed by contract is and shall be generally the demolition
and removal of any and all improvements , all situated in the
proposed right-of-way for the relocation of West Third Street
in the City of Little Rock and identified by address and
parcel number as follows : 2020 West Third Street and 2020A
West Third Street, same being Parcel 20 ; 220 and 224 Summit
Street, same being Parcels 23 and 24 ; 212 Schiller Street,
same being Parcel 25 ; and 112 Park Avenue, same being Parcel 9.
Said work is to be performed in accordance with
specifications for demolition of buildings on file in the
office of the Real Estate Department of the City of Little
Rock and the Purchasing Office of the City of Little Rock,
the receipt of which specifications by contractor is acknow-
ledged. Such specifications are adopted herein by reference
and made a part hereof the same as though set out herein word
for word and paragraph for paragraph in the f'cdy of this
contract.
SECTION 2 . PAYMENT. Upon completion of the work
owner shall pay to contractor the sum of $3, 400.00. The work
shall be deemea to have been completed when the same is
accepted by the City of Little Rock as having been fully
completed in literal and full compliance with the specifications
of demolition of buildings and the furnishing of acceptable
proof by contractor that all labor, supplies , materials and
other expenses incurred by the contractor in the prosecution
of the work have been fully paid for by the contractor.
SECTION 3. INSURANCE AND TAXES. The contractor
shall pay to the City of Little Rock and other public agencies
any and all permit fees and charges in connection with the
prosecution of the work and shall maintain at all times to be
evidenced by the certificate of coverage from a responsible
insurance company authorized to do business in the State of
Arkansas , workman ' s compensation insurance in the statutory
limits and public liability insurance in an amount acceptable
to the City Manager.
SECTION 4. BEGINNING AND COMPLETION OF WORK. Upon
the receipt of a work order from the Real Estate Department
of the City of Little Rock or the Purchasing Agent of the City
of Little Rock, contractor shall commence work and shall
complete same within 30 connsecutive calendar days after the
date of such work order. Liquidated damges hereby mutually
agreed to be reasonable shall be assessed at the rate of
$10.00 per day for each day in excess of the aforesaid 30
days, all or any part of which shall be used in order to
complete the work. The aggregate of the per diem liquidated
damages, if any, shall be deducted from payment to the contractor
upon completion of the work.
IN WITNESS HEREOF, the City of Little Rock hereunto
causes to be affixed by the hand of its Mayor and City Clerk
its corporate seal and Patton Wrecking & Demolition Company
does hereby cause to be affixed the hand of its President
and Secretary, its corporate seal on this day of
September, 1966.

SECTION 3. The City Manager and Director of Finance
are hereby authorized and directed upon completion of the
work called for in the contract and described in Section 2
hereof to pay Patton Wrecking & Demolition Company the con-
sideration provided for by said contract.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
