3464 r ' RESOLUTION NO. 3,464 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MISSOURI PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY TO MODIFY AMAIN LINE CROSSING TO REDUCE CERTAIN TRAFFIC HAZARDS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the intersection of Geyer Springs Road and the main line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad at or near the 6200 block of Geyer Springs Road in the City of Little Rock is a super-elevated grade crossing; and, WHEREAS, Geyer Springs Road, now heavily traveled will continue to be and become a more heavily traveled street with the further development of lands lying to the south of the City of Little Rock; and, WHEREAS, the condition of Geyer Springs Road, due to the staggered elevation of the tracks of the Missouri Pacific Railroad at their intersection, is hazardous to vehicular traffic as evidenced by in excess of 15 single auto accidents involving in excess of 13 injuries and estimated property damage in excess of Ten Thousand and no/100 Dollars ($10,000.00) in the year of 1965 alone; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The Missouri Pacific Railroad Company is hereby formally urged and requested by the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock to modify the aforesaid intersection of its main line and Geyer Springs Road by a reduction of the -2- grade of its main line tracks or by constructing a complete grade separation. SECTION 2. This resolution is adopted with hope and expectation that a serious threat to the health and safety of the citizens of the City of Little Rock will be removed and that the hazards of the aforedescribed intersection will be given the immediate attention and consideration of the Missouri Pacific railroad Company. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. ADOPTED: December 6, 1965 ATTEST. APPROVED: City Clerk Mayor
