RESOLUTION NO. 3 ,329
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN
APPLICATION WITH THE HOUSING AND HOME
FINANCE AGENCY OF THE UNITED STATES OF
AMERICA FOR A GRANT UNDER THE URBAN MASS
TRANSPORTATION ACT OF 1964; DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO MAKE SUCH APPLICATION;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Housing and Home Finance Administrator is
authorized to make grants for mass transportation projects;
and
WHEREAS, the contract for such financial assistance will
impose certain obligations upon this City, including the pro-
vision by it of the local share of the project costs; and
WHEREAS, it is required by the Housing and Home Finance
Agency regulation issued pursuant to Title VI of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964 that, in connection with the filing of
application for assistance under the Urban Mass Transportation
Act of 1964, the applicant give an assurance that it will com-
ply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the
Housing and Home Finance Agency regulation thereunder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and is hereby
authorized to execute and file an application in behalf of the
City of Little ?ock, Arkansas, with the Housing and Home Finance
Agency for aid in the financing of the purchase of thirty (30)
new thirty-five-passenger (35-passenger), air-conditioned, transit
type buses and the purchase of ten (10) new forty-five-passenger
(45-passenger) air-conditioned, diesel, transit type buses.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby directed and
authorized to execute and file with such application an assurance
or any other document or instrument required by the Housing and
Home Finance Agency under its regulations effectuating Title VI
of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and to furnish any and all other
such information as may be required by the Housing and Home
Finance Agency in connection with either the application or the
project described above in Section 1 hereof.

SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
