A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE
A DETAILED STUDY OF THE FEASIBILITY OF ANNEXATION
OF CERTAIN LANDS TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS the Planning Commission of the City of Little Rock
has recommended the annexation of certain lands to the City of
Little Rock at the earliest practicable time; and
WHEREAS the need to annex said lands and the requirements
and expenses incident thereto should be studied in detail in
order to accurately determine the feasibility of annexation
thereof in the foreseeable future; and
WHEREAS the tracts involved are generally referred to as
Tracts 2 and 3 as appearing on the maps heretofore issued in
connection with the proposed annexation area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby directed to undertake
a detailed study of Tracts 2 and 3, same being two (2) areas
recommended for annexation to this City by the Planning Commission
of the City of Little Rock and, in particular, to give detailed
attention to the need to annex said lands in the foreseeable
future, the requirements upon the revenues and manpower of this
City to properly provide services to said areas, and the over-all
expense which may reasonably be anticipated in connection with
the annexation of said lands. The City Manager is further directed
to prepare estimates of the costs and time factors in relocating
certain fire stations on Kavanaugh and Cantrell Roads so as to
provide adequate fire service within the proposed annexed area.
The City Manager is directed to make a full report on all of the
foregoing items and any and all other related matters necessary
to properly depict and outline the major factors pertaining to
said proposed annexation.

SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
