A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO FILE AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO ACQUIRE
OPEN-SPACE LAND UNDER TITLE SEVEN (7) OF
THE HOUSING ACT OF 1961; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND ALL OTHER
APPROPRIATE AGENCIES OF THIS CITY TO COMPLY
WITH ALL CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS
IMPOSED AS AN INCIDENT TO SUCH GRANT WHEN
MADE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961 provides
for the making of grants by the Housing and Home Finance
Administrator to states and local public bodies to assist
them in the acquisition of permanent interests in land for
open-space purposes where such acquisition is deemed essential
to the proper long-range development and welfare of urban
areas in accordance with plans for the allocation of land to
such purposes ; a
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock of Pulaski County
desires to acquire title to certain land known as
"7. 1 Acres in Greenbriar Development, Sky-
lark Subdivision, East of Chicot Road,
Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. "
which land, in accordance with the Parks and Recreation Plan
approved by the Little Rock Planning Commission, is to be
held and used for permanent open-space land as a recreational
area; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that the total consideration to
be paid for the acquisition of said interest will be Twenty-one

Thousand Three Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($21, 300.00) .
1OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. That an application be made to the Housing
and Home Finance Agency for a grant in an amount authorized by
Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961, which amount is presently

estimated to be Six Thousand Three Hundred Ninety and No/100
Dollars ($6, 390.00) , and that the City of Little Rock,
Pulaski County, Arkansas, will pay the balance of the con-
sideration for the acquisition of such interests and the
total of all related costs from other funds available to it.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager of Little Rock is
hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such
application with the Housing and Home Finance Agency, to pro-
vide additional information and to furnish such documents as
may be required by said Agency, to execute such contracts as
are required by said Agency, and to act as the authorized
correspondent of the City of Little A.ock, Pulaski County,
Arkansas.
SECTION 3. That the proposed acquisition is in accordance
with the Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department approved
by the Little Rock Planning Commission for the preservation of
permanent open-space land, and that, should said grant be made,
the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, will retain
said land for the use designated in said application and
approved by the Housing and Home Finance Agency.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption .
