A RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION TO TOKYO NISSAN AUTO SALES
COMPANY, LTD. , OF TOKYO, JAPAN, FOR THE CONTRIBUTION TO
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF A 1964 DATSUN SEDAN;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, Masaharu Yoshida, Chairman of the Board of Directors
of Tokyo Nissan _auto Sales Company, Ltd. , through personal friend-
ship with certain City Officials and as the result of apparently
pleasant and enjoyable relationship with the City of Little Rock
expressed his desire that the City of Little Rock have a Datsun
automobile for use by City Officials; and
WHEREAS, on April 7, 1964, Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales Company, Ltd. ,
through the influence of Masaharu Yoshida and in the presence of
Takayoshi Sogo, the Houston, Texas, Manager, and Yashuharu Aoki,
Japanese Counsul, also from Houston, Texas, caused to be delivered
a 1964 Datsun automobile to the City of Little Rock for use by its
officials; and
WHEREAS, a gift of such magnitude as an automobile is not only
unusual and worthy of note, but in this instance represents unexpected
largesse in response to no more than fitting and proper hospitality
to one having the personal qualities and stature of Mr. Masaharu
Yoshida; and
WHEREAS, though the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
is pleased beyond description with the gift of an automobile, it none-
theless wishes to express that the motivatior: and thought behind the
gift, though less tangible, is of greater importance and is most
greatly valued by this Board of Directors ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock ex-
presses its most sincere and deep appreciation to Mr . Masaharu Yoshida,
Tokyo Nissan Auto Sales Company, Ltd. , and to Takayoshi Sogo and
Yashuharu Aoki, for presenting as a gift to the City of Little Rock,

Arkansas, for official use, a 1964 Datsun Sedan and values greatly
the thought, feeling and motivation behind the gift.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
