3142 RESOLUTION NO. 3,142
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY FOR MAINTENANCE AND
OPERATION OF ILLUMINATED LIGHT FIXTURES AND SIGNALIZATION
EQUIPMENT ON THE EAST-WEST EXPRESSWAY BETWEEN UNIVERSITY
AVENUE AND DENNISON STREET WHEN AND AS COMPLETED BY THE
ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Arkansas State Highway Commission proposes to
construct through the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, a roadway
referred to as the East-West Expressway; and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas State Highway Commission is assuming
the cost of construction of said expressway; and
WHEREAS, the Arkansas State Highway Commission by Minute
Order No. 2977 authorized its Director to notify the City of
Little Rock that the State Highway Commission will provide for
the installation of illumination and signalization facilities on
said expressway on the condition that the City of Little Rock agree
to accept responsibility for the maintenance and operation of such
illumination and signalization facilities; and
WHEREAS, the State Highway Commission desires written evi-
dence of the acceptance of such a proposition between City of
Little Rock.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS A1D
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby agrees
to, and does hereby accept, the responsibility for the maintenance
and operation of the illumination and signalization facilities to
be installed and constructed by the Arkansas State Highway Commis-
sion on the proposed East-West Expressway in the City of Little
Rock between University Avenue and Dennison Street.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is directed to forward a certi-
fied copy of this Resolution to the Arkansas State Highway
Commission.
SECTION 3, This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
