A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TO INCLUDE
IN ITS PLANS FOR THE PROPOSED EAST-WEST EXPRESSWAY A PEDESTRIAN UNDERPASS
AT OR NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF THE SAID PROPOSED EAST-WEST EXPRESSWAY AND
FAIR PARK BLVD. IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Board of Directors of the City
of Little Rock to attend to the expansion of the City of Little Rock Zoo
in Fair Park at future times; and
WHEREAS, to accommodate parking facilities and reasonable expansion
of the Zoo it is necessary to have an underpass constructed under Fair
Park Blvd. at or near its intersection with the proposed East-West Express-
way of this City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1 . The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
request the Arkansas State Highway Department to include in its plans
and specifications for the proposed East-West Expressway a pedestrian
underpass for use by the public generally at or near the intersection
of the proposed East-West Expressway and Fair Park Blvd. in this City.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
