A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND IN SUPPORT OF THE LEADERSHIP
OF HONORABLE LYNDON B . JOHNSON, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA.
WHEREAS, the world suffered traumatic shock with the un-
timely death of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United
States ; and
WHEREAS, as successor in the office of President , the
Honorable Lyndon B. Johnson with deliberate dedication and dispatch
assumed and executed the responsibilities of that office and thus
provided stability and continuity afforded by our system of govern-
ment in a manner warranting the respect, gratitude and admiration
of every American; and
WHEREAS, almost simultaneously with the transition most all
nations of the world showed a renewed respect for the United States
of America and the principles and deeds upon which she justifies her
existence and, thus, commended to the attention of all people the
dedicated, prudent and God-fearing leadership of the Honorable Lyndon
B . Johnson, her President; and
WHEREAS, the efforts of President Lyndon B. Johnson can and,
we believe, will most fittingly provide for posterity a guiding light
kindled by the candle of faith and courage;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. As the elected representatives of the citizens
of this City, we join with the people of the world in support of the
leadership being given by President Lyndon B . Johnson, realizing that
his and our fervent hope is to maintain peace throughout the world
and improve all things for all mankind.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
