A RESOLUTION GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO GUS BLASS COMPANY
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CANOPY ON ITS BUILDING AT
4TH AND MAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Gus Blass Company is hereby granted a right
and franchise to construct on its building located upon Lots Seven
(7) and Eight (8), Block 76, original City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
a canopy which shall extent from nine (9) feet East of the right of
way line of Main Street along the South side of said Lot Seven (7)
to a point three feet East of the West line of said Lot Seven (7)
and the entire length of the East lines of Lots Seven (7) and
Eight (8) as aforesaid along Main Street. The said canopy shall
be not less than Eight and one-half feet (82' ) above the sidewalk
at the lowest point, shall be supported by cantilever structures
and shall extend not in excess of Nine feet (9 ' ) from the building
located upon the said Lots Seven and Eight at any point.
SECTION 2. The canopy authorized in Section 1. hereof
shall be constructed in all respects in compliance with the appli-
cable Building Code of this City, and the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, retains the right to revoke this franchise at any time
the said street right of way is needed for public purposes and if
needed for such purposes Gus Blass Company, or assigns, shall be
required to remove all portions of the canopy over right of way
needed for public purposes and shall be required to pay all costs
necessary to effect the removal of such part or all of the canopy
from the said street right of way.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
