RESOLUTION NO. 2,946
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE HONORABLE WERNER C. KNOOP FOR SERVING
AS MAYOR AND CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF LITTLE ROCK
FOR FIVE (5) YEARS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, the Honorable Werner C. Knoop was elected to serwe
as a member o the Board of irectors of Little Rock at the connaenco-
ment of the City Manager form of government in this City; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Knoop was honored by the first elected Board
of Directors of this City with his election as Mayor of the City and
Chairman of the Board of Directors in November of 1957; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Knoop performed his duti s and acted with such
dignity and character during his original term as Mayor and Chairman
of the Board of Directors that in January of 1961 he was unanimously
re-elected to that position for an additional two year term; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Knoop declined consideration as a nominee for
the position of Mayor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of this
City in January of 1963 ; and
WHEREAS, each past and present member of the Board of Directors
of this City acknowledges the outstanding and incomparable leadership,
courage, integrity and devotion of Werner C. Knoop while serving in
that position of responsibility and honor;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Honorable Werner C. Knoop is hereby given the
highest vote of appreciation by his fellow members of the Board of
Directors of the City of Little Rock for the indescribably competent
discharge of his duties as Mayor and Chairman of this Board of Directors
for the past five (5) years and since the inception of the City Manager
form of government in this City. It is with much anticipation that

the members of this Board of Directors look forward to the continued
application by Mr. Knoop of his excellent judgment and outstanding
abilities during the remainder of his term as a member of this Board
of Directors .
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption .
