2927 RESOLUTION NO. 2,927
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING HONORABLE JAMES F. HEWITT
FOR EXCELLENCE OF SERVICE IN BEHALF OF THE CITIZENS
OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS,
They say that bankers are a breed
of pups - reserved - deplored
but if the rest are like this man
we need them on this Board.
Few public servants ever lived
with such a dedication
to vote their conscience loud and clear
in spite of much frustration.
Heading committees and keeping track
of the many Boards and Commissions,
his attendance record amazed us all
with few, if any, omissions.
He' s helped the downtown banks along
and lets them play their fiddle
he has his own downtown out there
with his bank in the middle.
This man has stabilized this Board
and given sound direction
his motives, methods, logic, too,
will ever bear inspection.
So fate decrees we lose this man
and fate we can ' t repeal.
We've gained in strength because of him
his loss we' ll keenly feel.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Honorable James F. Hewitt is hereby extended
a most heartfelt and genuine vote of thanks and appreciation shared
by every citizen of the City of Little Rock for his continuous and
excellent discharge of the trust imposed upon him as a member of the
Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock and the Board of Di-
rectors does hereby sincerely hope that Mr. Hewitt may be of service
to the City in some manner in the future and sincerely hopes that
future members of the Board of Directors will display the same fine
-2-
qualities of leadership, public service and character displayed
by Mr. Hewitt during his term, thus perpetuating the highest quality
of municipal government for the future.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
