2924 RESOLUTION NO. 2,924 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE CITIZEN' S TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; PRO- VIDING FOR MEMBERSHIP OF THE COMMISSION AND THE TERMS THEREON; PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN EX-OFFICIAL MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR THE ORGANIZATION, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBI- LITIES OF THE COMMISSION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS : SECTION 1. There is hereby established a Citizen ' s Traffic Safety Commission to serve without compensation, con- sisting of twelve citizens of the City who shall be appointed by the City Manager with the approval of the Board of Directors. The term of the members of said Commission shall be for three years with staggered terms provided. The City Manager, Director of Couanunity Development, Municipal Judge, Chief of Police, 'Traffic Lieutenant, and 'Traffic Safety Officer shall serve as ex-official members of said board but shall not have voting privileges. SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of the Citizen' s Traffic Safety Commission: (1) To coordinate private and public traffic programs in the field of traffic safety; (2) To promote safety in all phases of pedestrian and vehicular traffic; (3) To pro- mote and actively conduct programs on educational activities in traffic matters. SECTION 3. The Director of Community Development or his representative shall serve as executive secretary to the Citizen's Traffic Safety Commission and shall provide such services as are necessary to perform its duties. SECTION 4. The Commission shall elect one of its members to serve as chairman and vice-chairman. The meetings of the Commission shall be held on call of the chairman of the Commission, by the Director of Traffic, or on petition of a majority of the y. - 2 - members of the Commission. SECTION 5.
