2876 RESOLUTION NO. 2,876 A RESOLUTION PAYING TRIBUTE TO WILLIAM KNOX AMO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, untimely death came to William Knox Amo on Sunday, July 15 , 1962; and WHEREAS, from 1945 to the date of his passing, Mr. Amo served as Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Little Rock; and WHEREAS, under his directorship the park and recreational activities of the City of Little Rock attained a position enviable throughout the country; and WHEREAS, his passing is a loss to Little Rock, Pulaski County and the State of Arkansas, as well as to his family and loved ones; NOW THEREFORE, in tribute to a dedicated and outstanding public servant, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The condolences of the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock are hereby extended to the family and loved ones of William Knox Amo. SECTION 2. The Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock acknowledges the public' s loss of a devoted and dedicated public servant in the untimely death of William Knox Amo and takes great pride in the accomplishments attained in the field of Parks & Recreation in this City attributable in large measure to the imagination and leadership of Mr. Amo .
