A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOW BID OF CLYDE MILLER &
ASSOCIATES IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED
NINETY AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($4,690.00) FOR THE INSTALLA-
TION OF LIGHTS AT A BALL FIELD IN ALLSOPP PARK; AUTHORI-
ZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER
INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK WITH THE SAID CLYDE MILLER & ASSOCIATES;
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND DIRECTOR
OF FINANCE TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY WARRANTS THEREFOR;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, invitation for bids for the installation of lights
at a Ball Field in Allsopp Park have been legally published; and
WHEREAS, bids have been received and opened pursuant to
said invitation; and
WHEREAS, the bid of Clyde Miller & Associates is the lowest
responsible and responsive bid submitted therefor; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock desires to award a contract
for the said project to the said Clyde Miller & Associates ;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The low bid of Clyde Miller & Associates in
the amount of Four Thousand Six Hundred Ninety and No/100 Dollars
($4,690 .00) for installation of lights at the Ball Field in Allsopp
Park is hereby accepted.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to enter into and execute on behalf of the City of
Little Rock a Contract with Clyde Miller & Associates for the
said project, which Contract shall be in form and words as follows :
C O N T R A C T
THIS CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT, made and entered into this
day of May, 1962, by and between Clyde Miller & Associates,
hereinafter referred to as CONTRACTOR, and the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, hereinafter referred to as CITY, WITNESSETH:
That for and in consideration of the payment to be made
as hereinafter set forth, CONTRACTOR agrees to furnish all tools,
labor, equipment and materials and to build and construct lighting
fixtures and apparatus at and on the Little League Baseball Field
in Allsopp Park in exact accordance with the Specifications and Bid
Proposal, attached hereto and made a part hereof as fully as though
copied in full herein, under the direct supervision and to the en-
tire satisfaction of the Director of Public Works of the City of
Little Rock, subject to inspection at all times in accordance with
the laws of the State of Arkansas .
It is agreed and understood between the Parties hereto that
CONTRACTOR agrees to accept and CITY agrees to pay for the work the
sum of Four Thousand Six Hundred Ninety and No/100 Dollars ($4,690.00) ,
such payment to be in lawful money of the United States, and the pay-
ment shall be made upon acceptance of the work by the Director of
Public Works of the City of Little Rock.
CONTRACTOR agrees that it will, at all times, until accept-
ance of the work, maintain public liability insurance to protect the
public from injury arising from the work or in connection therewith
of not less than $100,000/$300,000 for personal injuries and $10,000/
$50,000 for property damage, and will maintain workmen ' s compensation
insurance on all of its employees used in performance of the work.
CONTRACTOR shall give satisfactory proof that all laborers and suppliers
have been paid in full prior to acceptance of the work by CITY.

CONTRACTOR agrees, for the consideration above expressed,
to begin work within ten (10) days after being ordered to begin
work by the Director of Public Works and to complete the work with-
in two (2) weeks from the date of said order.
CITY reserves the right to alter, change or modify the
Specifications at any time prior to completion of the work and,
upon such alteration, change or modification, the Contract price
shall be likewise altered, modified or changed in a fair and
equitable manner according to the quantities so affected.

SECTION 3 . The City Manager and Director of Finance are
hereby authorized and directed to execute the necessary warrants
in payment of the bid price herein .
SECTION 4. The bid price accepted in Section 1 hereof
shall be paid from the Parks and Airport Construction Fund, Pro-
ject 36, which sum has previously been appropriated by ordinance .
SECTION 5 . This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
