2806 .1. RESOLUTION NO. 2,806 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN LAND AT 9105 KANIS ROAD AS A SITE FOR THE PROPOSED NEST END FIRE STATION: AUTHORIZING PAYMENT THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. IEREAS, the City of Little Rock has annexed certain territory unto it and is obligated to furnish municipal facilities to the residents of said area; and EEREAS, the City is interested in purchasing certain property located at 9105 Kanis Road as a site for the proposed West End Fire Station at a price of Three Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($3,500.00) ; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Board of Directors to acquire by purchase the property through the owners, W. H. Whitmore and Lois Whitmore, his wife; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to purchase from W. H. Whitmore and Lois Whitmore, his wife, certain real property, hereinafter described for the price of Three Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($3,500.00) . SECTION 2. The real property to be purchased pursuant to Section 1. hereof is described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest corner of the N4 - NW- of Section 11, Township 1 North, Range 13 Nest, run thence North for a distance of 319 feet; thence East along the South lines of Lots 5, 4, 3 and 2 a distance of 392 feet for a point of beginning of this tract; run thence East 98 feet; thence run North a distance of 376 feet to the centerline of West 12th Street Pike; run thence Northwesterly along the centerline of said West 12th Street Pike 110.3 feet which is 98 feet West of the East boundary line of this tract; run thence South 427.6 feet to the point of beginning, said tract being also described as Tract One (1) of the Plat of "Curran Property". SECTION 3. Upon proof of good and merchantable title to the real property above described, the City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to take in the name of the City of Little Rock a Warranty Deed conveying fee simple title to the real estate and any improvements thereon, free and clear of all encumbrances, and to pay to W. H. Whitmore and Lois Whitmore, his wife, the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($3,500.00) , which sum shall be payable out of the Fire Department Construction 2 _ Fund, Project 12, which has heretofore been appropriated for the purpose of acquiring fire stations within the City of Little Rock.
