2656 RESOLUTION NO. 2,656
A RESOLUTION DECLARING SUPPORT FOR H.J.R. No. 36 AND S.J.R. No.
4 OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS OF 1961; AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, S.J.R. No. 4 and H.J.R. No. 36 proposed before the
General Assembly of the State of Arkansas in the 1961 Session
provide for powers and rights in municipalities to issue bonds and
obtain adequate revenues for financing same; and
WHEREAS, a majority of the voters of the City of Little
Rock voted in favor of Amendment No. 51 to the Constitution in
November of 1960, which in substance made provisions for same as
S.J.R. No. 4 and H.J.R. No. 36; and
WHEREAS , there is a great need in the municipalities of the
State of Arkansas, for additional revenue to finance capital im-
provements and generally enhance the public safety, welfare and
morals and it is desirable that the Constitution of the Mate of
Arkansas be amended according to the terms of either H.J.R. No. 36
or S.J.R. No. 4;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors of the City of Little dock
does hereby declare itself and does go on record in support of
either H.J.R. No. 36 or S.J .R. No. 4 and does declare that the
passage of either of the above named resolutions is desired and
will be beneficial to the interest of the City of Little Rock and
other municipalities throughout the State.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
