2453 RESOLUTION NO. 2453
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE POLICY OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK TOWARD THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A BASEBALL FRANCHISE IN
THE SOUTHERN ASSOCIATION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHE?EAS, the City of Little Rock recognizes the value to its
community of organized spectator sports; and
WHEREAS, minor league baseball has long been a part of the
City of Little Rock and as no minor league team is located in
Little Rock at the present time;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
TIC CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. It is declared to be the policy of the City of
Little Rock that a minor league baseball team of the Southern Asso-
ciation should be located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. It is further declared that the Board of Directors
of the City of Little Rock shall give any and all assistance within
its powers to obtain a franchise for the City of Little Rock in
the Southern Association and to procure a team to represent the
City of Little Rock in said Southern Association.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
