A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOW BID OF CHOCTAW, INC. FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE AT THE INTERSECTION OF "F" AND BUCHANAN
STREETS IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT ON BE-
HALF OF THE CITY WITH CHOCTAW,INC. FOR THE SAID CONSTRUCTION;
PROVIDING THE CONSIDERATION THEREFOR; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The low bid of Choctaw, Inc . in the amount of One
Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-five and 66/100 Dollars ($1,475 .66) ,
including Arkansas Sales Tax, less five per-cent (S%) cash discount ,
for tree construction of a bridge at the intersection of "F" and
Buchanan Streets in the City of Little Rock is hereby accepted and
contract is hereby awarded to Choctaw, Inc . , the low bidder on said
project.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into and execute a contract for the construction
of the bridge provided for in Section 1 hereof with Choctaw, Inc. ,
which contract shall be in form and words as follows :
C O N T R A C T
THIS CONTRACT AND AGREEMENT made and entered into this
day of , 1959 , by and between the CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS , by its Mayor and City Clerk , Party of the First Part ; and
CHOCTAW, INC. , Party of the Second Part , WITNESSETH:
That for and in consideration of the payment to be made as hereinafter
set forth, the Party of the Second Part hereby agrees to furnish all
materials and equipment and to build and construct a concrete roadway
bridge with cwo hand rails at the intersection of "F" and Buchanan
Streets in the City of Little Rock in exact accord with the plans on
file in the office of the Director of Public Works of Little stock, Arkan-
sas, WILicn plans and specifications are made a part hereof as fully as
though set out herein word for word . The said construction project
is to be under the direct supervision and to the entire satisfaction
of the Director of Public Works of the City of Little Rock and subject
to inspection at all times in accordance with the laws of the State of
Arkansas.
It is agreed and understood between the parties hereto that the
Party of the Second Part agrees to accept and the Party of the First Part
agrees to pay for the construction project provided for herein, the sum
of One Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-five and 66/100 Dollars ($1,475 .66) ,
which includes Arkansas Sales Tax, less a five per-cent (57.) cash dis-
count, all in lawful money of the United States.
It is further agreed and understood between the parties hereto that
Party of the Second Part will furnish immediate delivery and construction
of the bridge authorized by this Contract .

SECTION 3. The City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby
authorized and directed to execute the necessary warrant or warrants
for the payment of the consideration provided for herein. Further,
said expenditure shall be charged against the budget of the Street
Department of the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
