2322 RESOLUTION N0 . 2322 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE FROM MARY H. REQUA OF A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE NEW BENTON HIGHWAY APPROXIMATELY 1150 FEET SOUTH OF THE INTERSECTION .OF ASHER AND HAYES STREETS AS A GIFT TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; COMMITTING THE CITY, AT ITS OWN EXPENSE, TO CONSTRUCT AN APPROACH ROAD TO SAID TRACT OF LAND FROM SAID NEW BENTON HIGH- WAY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS , Mary H. Requa has indicated a desire to convey to the City of Little Rock as a gift certain lands owned by her situated West of and adjacent to the New Benton Highway approximately 1150 feet South of the intersection of Asher and Hayes Streets within the said City,upon the condition that the City will, at its expense, construct an approach road from said highway to said land which shall become a public road; and WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the offer of gift of said land and be bound by the conditions thereof, in as much as the lands can now be utilized as a new fire station site badly needed in said area; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock hereby agrees to accept by proper conveyance the gift of a tract of land owned by Mary H. Requa situated adjacent to and West of the New Benton Highway approximately 1150 feet South of the intersection of Asher and Hayes Streets in said City. The dimensions of said tract of land to be approximately 30 feet X 120 feet. Said tract of land will initially be utilized as a site for the location of a fire station to serve the surrounding area. SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock is hereby committed at such time as title to said land is conveyed to said City to construct an approach road from said New Benton Highway to said property according to such plans and specifications as the City shall deem necessary. Provided, however, said approach road will • -L- be constructed at the expense of the City of Little Rock and may be utilized by the public generally. SECTION 3 .
