RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Ole THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS APPROVING THE UNDERTAKING
BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
OF SURVEY OF AN URBAN AREA TO DETERMINE THE FEASI-
BILITY OF UNDERTAKING URBAN RENEWAL PROJECTS THEREIN
WHEREAS, under Title I of the Housing Act of 1919, as amended, the Housing
and Home Finance Administrator is authorized to extend financial assistance to
local public agencies for surveys of urban areas to determine whether the under-
taking of urban renewal projects therein may be feasible; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest that the Housing Au-
thority conduct such a survey in the urban area situated in the City of Little
Rock, County of Pulaski, and the State of Arkansas, and generally bounded by the
following:
Lincoln Avenue and the Arkansas River on the North,
The Third Bridge Expressway on the East,
Roosevelt Road and the alley between West 7th and 8th on the South,
and Arch Street, State Capitol Grounds and kissouri Pacific Railroad
on the West.
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority intends to initiate the planning of an urban
renewal project in the said urban area after the aforementioned survey, provided
that the undertaking of an urban renewal project therein is deemed feasible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the undertaking by the Housing Authority of a survey in
said urban area to determine whether the undertaking of an urban renewal project
therein nay be feasible is hereby recommended and approved; and
Section 2. That the financial assistance provided under Section 102 of the
said Housing Act of 1919, as amended, is necessary to enable the Housing Authority
to finance such a survey; and
Section . That the filing of an application by the Housing Authority for
an Advance of funds from the United States of America for conducting such a sur-
vey in said urban area is hereby approved and that the Executive Director is hereby
authorized and directed to execute and file such Application with the Housing and
Home Finance Administrator, and to provide such additional information and to fur-
nish such documents as may be required by said Administrator and to act as the
authorized representative of the Housing Authority.
