A RESOLUTION COMMENDING MRS . BERNIE BABCOCK FOR HER
OUTSTANDING MERITORIOUS SERVICES AS FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR
OF THE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY AND ANTIQUITIES IN
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS , Mrs. Bernie Babcock founded the Museum of Natural
History and Antiquities thirty years ago and
WHEREAS, she surpassed many obstacles and overcame countless
set backs in developing this Museum for the City of Little Rock,
and
WHEREAS , through her untiring efforts the Old Tower Building
in MacArthur Park which was the birth place of General Douglas
MacArthur was restored and renovated for use as a Museum, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Bernie Babcock has retired from the position
of Director of the Museum of Natural History and Antiquities
on the 31st day of August, 1953 ,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1 . Mrs. Bernie Babcock is hereby commended for
her outstanding meritorious services as founder and director
of the Museum of Natural History and Antiquities in Little Rock,
Arkansas.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption .
