RESOLUTION NO . 2246
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE HIGH BID OF ESSO STANDARD
OIL COMPANY OF MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE, ON CERTAIN PROPERTY
OWNED BY THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK LOCATED AT 707 EAST
CAPITOL AVENUE IN LITTLE ROCK, PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS,
AS DESCRIBED HEREIN; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM DEED ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK FOR CONVEYANCE OF SAID PROPERTY TO ESSO
STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE, FOR CON-
SIDERATION OF EIGHTEEN HUNDRED AND NO/l00 DOLLARS ($1800.00) ;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES .
WHEREAS, certain property owned by the City of Little Rock
located at 707 East Capitol Avenue in Little Rock, Pulaski County,
Arkansas, and more particularly described hereinafter, is no
longer needed by the City for public purposes, and,
WHEREAS, after proper legal advertisement of the said pro-
perty one (1) bid of Eighteen Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($1800 .00)
by Esso Standard Oil Company of Memphis, Tennessee, was received
pursuant to the said legal advertisement, and,
WHEREAS, the said bid of Eighteen Hundred and No/100 Dollars
($1800.00) was the high bid submitted for the said property, and
it has been determined that the said bid represents the fair market
value of the said property,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1 . That the bid of Esso Standard Oil Company of
Memphis, Tennessee, of Eighteen Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($1800.00)

for land located at 707 East Capitol Avenue, Little Rock, Pulaski
County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northwest corner, Lot 3 , Block 4,
Stevenson ' s Addition to the City of Little Rock,
thence South 81° 7 ' East 2.8 feet to a point in
the North Line of Lot 3, thence South 2° 13 ' East
152.1 feet to a point in the South Line of Lot 3 ,
thence North 81° 7 ' West 21.2 feet to the South-
west corner of Lot 3 , thence North 40 13 ' East
along the Westerly line of Lot 3 150 feet to the
point of beginning, containing 1800 square feet
more or less.
be, and the same is hereby, accepted.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and they
are hereby authorized and directed to execute a Quitclaim Deed
on behalf of the City of Little Rock for the above descried
property to Esso Standard Oil Company of Memphis, Tennessee,
for a consideration of Eighteen Hundred and No/100 Dollars
($1800.00) , which Quitclaim Deed shall be in form and words
as follows:
QUITCLAIM DEED
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS :
THAT the City of Little Rock, Arkansas , Grantor,
acting by and through Werner C. Knoop, its Mayor and
Pauline Beeson, its City Clerk, pursuant to the pro-
visions of Resolution No . , for and in
consideration of the sum of Eighteen Hundred and No/100
Dollars ($1800.00) in hand paid by Esso Standard Oil
Company of Memphis, Tennessee, Grantee, the receipt
of which is hereby acknowledged, do hereby grant, convey,
sell and quitclaim unto the said Grantee, and unto its
heirs and assigns forever, the following lands lying
in Pulaski County, Arkansas:
Beginning at the Northwest corner, Lot 3 , Block 4,
Stevenson' s '1.ddition to the City of Little Rock,
thence South 31° 7 ' East 2.3 feet to a point in
the North Line of lot 3 , thence South 2° 13 ' East
152.1 feet to a point in the South Line of Lot 3 ,
thence North 31° 7 ' West 21.2 feet to the South-
west corner of Lot 3 , thence North 4° 13 ' East
along the Westerly line of Lot 3 150 feet to the
point of beginning, containing 1300 square feet
more or less.
To have and to hold the same unto the said Grantee,
and unto its heirs and assigns forever, with all appur-
tenances thereunto belonging.
