of heavily traveled s±.re.ets in the City with l
or 2 Inches of hot mix asphalt. This will cost
$150,000. This list of s4:reets was arrived at
after a careful inspection of all streets in the
City by the City Engineer and by an analysis of
the volume of traffic can these streets. Hot mix
asphalt will only be put on streets that have
curb and gutter and a ;e already improved.
b. The City will begin a dust proof program on
streets on the east side of the City and work
to the west side on streets that are unimproved.
This will be started on the east side of the
City since the program was started on the west
side of the City last year. This program will
be done at no additional cost to the property
owners and we plan to complete approximately 800
blocks, if the weather permits.
c. Property owners who are interested in having a
better street than the dust proof program can
have a double penetration asphalt street by
furnishing the materials and the City will furnish
the labor. This will cost each property owner
approximately $15. Property owners who desire
this program can contact the City Engineer by
telephone or mail for a petition. The property
owners can then post a cashier' s check in the
City Collectors Office or by cash. All property
owners in each block must sign the petition.
