2150 RESOLUTION No. 2150 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A STREET PROGRAM FOR 1957 FOR THE PURPOSE OF REPAIRING AND RESURFACING STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, The Street Program for 1957 has been purposed for the purpose of repairing and resurfacing a number of streets, building and repairing bridges, and other miscellaneous items, and WHEREAS, It is intended that the following items will be started and completed if possible, as hereinafter set forth, and WHEREAS, This program should be brought to the knowledge of, and approved by the Little Rock City Council, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, SECTION 1. That the Street Program for 1957 which is proposed for the purpose of repairing and resurfacing a number of streets, and repairing bridges, and doing a certain amount of curb work, and other miscellaneous work is hereby approved by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. SECTION 2. That it is purposed that the following work be listed for the purpose of completing it on the 1957 Street Program if possible. That this work is listed as follows: 1. Repair and resurface East Roosevelt Road Extension with City employees and materials. 2. Bond Street, 13th to 17th Streets--widen, cushion, and seal coat. 3. Harrington Street, 6th to 10th Streets--widen, cushion, and seal coat. 4. East 15th Street and Railroad--fill with dirt. 5. Recta- Street, 6th to 9th Streets,--seal coat. 6. Sixth Street, Rector to Ferry--seal coat. 7. Third Street, Recta- to Sherman--seal coat. Release from holdover of 1956 Resurfacing Frogram. 8. Eighth and Johnson Streets--asphalt curve. 9. Eighth Street, Cedar to Jonesboro Drive--seal coat and pulvi mix. 10. Twelveth Street, Taylor to Hayes Streets--widen, cushion, and seal coat if it remains in the City. 11. Kavanaugh, Hayes to McKinley Streets--widen, cushion, and seal coat. 12. 28th Street, Fillmore to Hayes--build bridge and fill roadway dump. 13. Twenty-Sixth Street, Wolfe to Battery Streets--pulvi-mix and double surface. 14. Install two hundred street markers. 15. City Hall Parking Lot--pulvi-mix and double surface. 16. Robinson Auditorium Parking Lot--double surface. 17. Riverfront Parking Lot--double surface. IS. Chester Street, Markham to 3rd Streets--Pulvi-mix and surface (money to come from Resurfacing Program) 19. Dust proof all east and west streets (approximately 700) with .3 gallons of asphalt and cover with screenings. 20. Double surface upon petition and payment for materials by property owners 100 blocks (20/ward) with approval of the respective Aldermen. 21. Asphalt intersection at Markham and Taylor Streets. 22. Cushion where necessary streets on the proposed Resurfacing Program. 23. The following list of streets are to be resurfaced: (a) West Seventeenth'', Park to Jones. (b) West Eighteenth Street", Park to Jones. (c) Rice Street", 16th to Wright Avenue. (d) Dennison Street", 16th to Wright Avenue. (e) Thayer Street", 18th to Wright Avenue. ( f) Eighth Street", Rock to Broadway. (g) High Street", 8th to Wright Avenue. (h) East Tenth Street*, Harrington to Picron. ( 1 ) Seventh Street", Dennison to Wolfe. (j) East Fifteenth and Seventeenth Streets'', 100 feet west of Rock Island Railroad to Bond Street. (k) West Sixth Street, Broadway to Woodlane. ( I ) Oak Street, 10th to 12th. (m) Maple Street, Markham to 5th. (n) Valmar Street, Markham to 5th. (o) Martin Street, Markham to 5th. (p) Chester Street, 4th to Capitol--by City forces (money to come from Resurfacing Program) . (q) Pine Street, Lee to Plateau. (r) Pine Street, 12th to Asher. (s) West Eleventh Street, Johnson to Brown. ( t) East Sixth Street, Cumberland to Ferry. (u) Sherwood and Linkwood Streets.
