A RESOLUTION FIXING THE DATE AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF A PUBLIC
HEARING ON A PETITION TO VACATE AND ABANDON THAT PART OF NORTH
FILMORE STREET BETWEEN MICHIGAN AVENUE AND SCENIC DRIVE, INTERSECTING
BLOCKS 7 AND 8 OF PARK VIEW ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.
WHEREAS, J. TAPPAN HORNOR, JR. , SUE C. HORNOR, HENDRIX BARNETT,
HELEN S . BARNETT , E. G. PEARCE and IRENE R. PEARCE, have fuly filed
a petition with the City Council of Little Rock on the f day of
1957 , asking that the City Council close, vacate, and
abandon that part of North Filmore Street between Michigan Avenue and
Scenic Drive, intersecting Blocks 7 and 8 of Park View Addition to
the City of Little Rock, and
WHEREAS , the petitioners have properly designated the portion
of the street and filed a photostat of the plat showing said portion
together with the abutting block and lot numbers, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS , in regular meeting assembled this 1('-' /Pf day of
1957 , that the day for the hearing on this petition shall be 25 ,
March , 1957, at 8:00 P.M.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the City Clerk is directed to give
notice of the hearing by publication once a week for two consecutive
weeks in a newspaper of county-wide distribution, the notice to state
the names of the persons signing the petition, the name of the portion
of the street, the abutting lot and block numbers , and the day certain
on which the City Council will hear and determine whether North Filmore
Street between Michigan Avenue and Scenic Drive shall be closed and
abandoned.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that this Resolution shall be in full
force and effect from and after its adoption by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor .
