2096 RESOLUTION NO . 2096 A RESOLUTION FIXING THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON A PETITION TO VACATE AND ABANDON TAYLOR STREET FROM "C" STREET ON THE SOUTH TO LEE STREET ON THE NORTH, BETWEEN BLOCK 18, PFEIFER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AND BLOCK 1, FAUSETT'S SUBDIVISION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF NOTICES THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed by B. B. Chambers, Jr. and Mary A. Chambers, his wife; G. L. McBride and Ethel McBride, his wife; and Elbert Fausett and Marie Fausett, his wife, with the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas on the 7th day of May, 1956, asking that the City Council vacate and abandon Taylor Street from "C" Street on the South to Lee Street on the North, between Block 18, Pfeifer Addition to the City of Little Rock, and Block 1, Fausett ' s Subdivision to the City of Little Rock, said street being 280 feet long and 50 feet wide; and WHEREAS, petitioners are the owners of all lots and land abutting on Taylor Street from ''C" Street on the South to Lee Street on the North; and WHEREAS, that portion of Taylor Street sought to be vacated is located within a tract of land annexed to the City of Little Rock and, although platted, has never been used. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That the 21st day of May , 1956 shall be fixed as the date for the hearing upon the petition to vacate and abandon Taylor Street from "C" Street on the South to Lee Street on the North, between Block 18, Pfeifer Addition to the City of Little Rock, and Block 1, Fausett ' s Subdivision to the City of Little Rock. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of said hearing by publication once a week for two -2- consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in Pulaski County and having a general circulation in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. That the notice shall state the names of the persons who sign the petition, and the name or description of the street or portion of street to be vacated; and advise all persons that on a day therein named, the City Council will hear and determine whether Taylor Street from "C" Street on the South to Lee Street on the North shall be vacated. SECTION 3 . That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the City Council and ap- proval by the Mayor.
