RESOLUTION NO. 2027
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR. AND
CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO
JOIN IN A WRITTEN AGREEMENT WITH THE OWNERS OF ALL THE
REAL ESTATE IN BLOCK ONE HUNDRED TWENTY (120), ORIGINAL
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO CLOSE AND ABANDON THE
ALLEY ACROSS SAID BLOCK; FINDING THAT SAID ALLEY IS NOT
NEEDED FOR HIGHWAY PURPOSES; THAT THE WELFARE OF THE
CITY WILL BE ENHANCED OR PROMOTED BY THE CLOSING OF SAID
ALLEY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it appears that the owners of all the real estate
in Block One Hundred Twenty (120), Original City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, pursuant to the provisions of Dedication Deed executed
by Roswell Beebe and C. E. Beebe, his wife, and Chester Ashley to
the Mayor and Alderman of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on
December 26, 1839, and recorded in Book L, Page 332, in the office
of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, have determined to
close and vacate the whole of an alley twenty (20) feet in width
running in a north-south direction through the center of said
Block 120, and appropriate and attach the same to the abutting
lots in said Block; and have agreed to the joint execution of an
act of deed to accomplish said purpose ; and
WHEREAS, it appears, and it is hereby found and determined
that said alley across said Block 120 is not needed for highway
rposes and that the welfare of the City will be enhanced or
promoted by the closing and abandoning of said alley:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas :
SECTION 1 . That the City Council of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, acting by and through the Mayor and City Clerk of said

City, shall join with the owners of all the real estate situate
in Block One Hundred Twenty (120), Original City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, in a written agreement to close and abandon the whole
of that certain alley twenty (20) feet in width running in a north-
south direction through the center of said Block 120, Original City
of Little Rock, Arkansas .
SECTION 2. That upon the proper execution and acknowledgment
of said instrument and the filing of the same in the office of the
Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, the title to the land com-
prising said alley so abandoned shall vest in the owners of the
real estate adjacent thereto, each such adjacent owner taking title
to the middle of said alley.
SECTION 3. It is hereby found and determined that said alley
across said Block 120 is not needed for highway purposes and that
the welfare of the City will be enhanced or promoted by the closing
and abandoning of said alley.
