A RESOLUTION DIRECTING AID AUTHORIZING 0. D. LONGSTRETH,
JR. , CITY ATTORNEY OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
TO INTERVENE IN AN APPLICATION OF TEE ARKANSAS POWER &
LIGHT COMPANY FOR HIGHER RATES, WHICH IS P{'ILED AS DOCKET
NU. U-959 BEFORE THE ARKANSAS PUBLIC SERVICE CON 'flSSION,
ON BEHALF OF THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK AND
OF THE CITYY OF LITTLE ROCK, REQUESTING THE CITY CLERK TO
FURNISH A CERTIFIED COPY OF SAID RESOLUTION TO THE CITY
ATTORNEY FOR FILING WITH THE ARKANSAS PUBLIC SERVICE
COi, 4ISSiON, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHE REAS, a new rate schedule was filed by the Arkansas
power & Light company as of June 1, 1954; and
WHEREAS , under Section 1 of Rule 2 of the Rules of Prac-
tice and procedure of the Arkansas public Service Commission
it is necessary that the City Council of the City of Little
Rock pass a Resolution directing and authorizing the City Attor-
ney to intervene on behalf of the citizens of Little Rock, Ark-
ansas who are consumers of electricity supplied by said Company
and of the City of Little Rock in this matter;
IvOW, THERr;r'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THL
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS :
SECTION 1. That 0. D. Longstreth, Jr . , City Attorney for
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, be and he is hereby directed,
authorized and empowered to intervene, on behalf of residents of
the City of Little Rock who are consumers of electricity sup-
plied by the Arkansas Power P. Light Company and of the City of
Little Rock, in an application of the Arkansas Power Light
Company for higher rates , which is filed as Docket No. U-959
before the Arkansas public Service Commission.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is hereby requested to fur-
nish said 0. D. Longstreth, Jr. , City Attorney, with a certified
copy of this Resolution so that he may attach it to any interven-
tion which he may find it necessary to file in Docket No. U-959
before the Arkansas Public Service Commission.

SECTION 3 . That this Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption by the City Council and
approval by the Mayor .
