RESOLUTION NO. 1998
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAITS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THE LITTLE ROCK I IORIAL ROSE GARDEN TO BE LOCATED
IIT MacARTHUR PARK; AND FOR OTTER PURPOSES.
WH R,EAS, Ordinance No. 8614, heretofore adopted by the City
Council, created the Municipal Rose Garden Commission; and
WiEREAS, the Municipal Rose Garden Commission has had plans
prepared for the construction of the Little Rock Memorial Rose
Garden to be located in MacArthur Park, copies of which plans

TriEREAS, the Municipal Rose L arden Commission desires to
proceed with the construction of the Little Rock Memorial Rose
Garden;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. Plans for the construction of the Little Rock
Memorial Rose Garden are hereby approved for construction.
Section 2. The Municipal Rose Garden Commission is empowered
to proceed with this construction, costs of which being; and remain-
ing the responsibility of this commission.
Section 3. Removal of the public toilet building and the
small building used for storage and selling of beverages and ice
cream from their present locations within the area of the proposed
Little Rock Memorial Rose Garden is approved and the Municipal Rose
Garden Commission may proceed to remove these two structures at its
discretion, provided these structures are reerected or similar structures
built in the southern portion of MacArthur Park.
Section 4. Existing trees located within the area of the proposed
Little Rock Memorial Hose Garden may be removed at the discretion of
the Municipal Rose Garden Commission.
