RESOLUTION NO. 1997
A RESOLUTION FIXING A DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON THE CLOSING AND
VACATING OF A PORTION OF McALMONT STREET DIVIDING BLOCK 38 AND
BLOCK 40 FROM BLOCK 39, BRAGG'S SECOND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF NOTICES THEREOF;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a Petition was filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 29th day of February, 1954,
asking that the City Council vacate and abandon a portion of
IcAlmont Street, the portion of said street to be vacated and
closed being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of Lot Twelve (12) ,
Block Thirty-eight (38) , Bragg's Second Addition to
the City of Little Rock, and run thence South along
the West line of McAlmont Street to the North line of
Roosevelt Road; thence East to the East line of
McAlmont Street; thence North along the East line of
McAlmont Street to the northwest corner of Lot One (1) ,
Block Thirty-nine (39 ) , Bragg's Second Addition to the
City of Little Rock; and thence West across McAlmont
Street to the point of beginning;
and,
WHEREAS, said Petition has been signed by Little Rock
School District which is the owner of all the property abutting on
that portion of the street to be closed and vacated:
MOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, that the 26 day of April, 1954,
be fixed as the day for hearing the Petition to Vacate the above
described portion of cAlmont Street, and the City Clerk is hereby
directed to give notice of such hearing by publication once a
week for two consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in
Pulaski County, and having a general circulation in the City of
Little Rock. The notice shall state the name of the person who
signed the Petition and the name of the street, or portion thereof,
to be closed and vacated. All persons shall be advised that on
the certain day named in the Notice the Council will determine

whether or not the portion of McAlmont Street designated in said
Notice should be closed and vacated.
